Photoshopped or Not? A Tool to Tell

Now and days magazine editors use Photoshop for everything. They can turn a 200lb Asian women into a 95lb African american women. They can alter skin color, facial features and more. Most commonly you see weight alterations and pimple removals.
Dr. Farid and Eric Kee are trying to create a tool that shows just how much fashion pictures are photo shopped. This first crossed their minds when they wanted to research fashion magazines. Many believe that this is causing many eating disorders and body anxiety. They would like to have a before and after picture for all pictures.
I'm in love with this article. It shines light on something alot of people are afraid to talk about. I am actually good at photo shopping things, but every time i do photo shop something i have a before and after picture. I also agree that this can cause eating disorders and body anxiety. Teens have this ideal view on what they want to be like when 9 times out of 10 its not what it looks like.

In China, Human Costs Are Built Into an Ipad

I recently read an article that basically talked about the horrible working conditions in a china at an i-pad production company. They started the article with a brief summary of an explosion that recently happened. They explained that it was because of a chemical spill. Workers slept in small dorms. They also worked ridiculous hours for less than minimal wage. Many people feel as if apple doesn't care about their workers.

Complaints have been sent but there have been no changes. I feel as if apple needs to lose customers in order to treat their workers better. I want to stop using apple completely, but that is very difficult to do. Apple is all around me. I personally do not agree with apple's actions. It may sound crazy but apple needs to be shut down. If it was any other company they wouldve been shut down.

"Im a criminal"

I just recently read an article entitled "I'm a criminal, and so are you." This article was basically talking about people discriminating criminals. The main point of this article is to create some awareness to something that we all do. Did you know that everyone commits a crime, weather it's sooner or later in life.

The difference between the criminals in jail and us criminals is that we haven't been caught yet. If we where associated as criminals most of us would not be in the predicament that we are in.

This article made me think twice about the things i do or did. Everyone is a criminal whether you associate yourself as one or not. I strongly agree with her. She's shining light on information that is very valuable.
